España y Turquía lideran juntos la propuesta por un mundo más tolerante / Spain and Turkey promoting a tolerant world together

Esta semana ha tenido lugar en Estambul el Segundo Foro Internacional de la Alianza de Civilizaciones en el que España y Turquía han tenido un papel relevante. El propósito de esta reunión es promover un cambio de actitud del impositivo y estricto poder político y militar hacia formas de relación basadas en el respeto y el diálogo tolerante en un momento en el que la sociedad debe haber madurado lo suficiente para permitir la consideración de tales valores a nivel internacional.
El apoyo a este tipo de iniciativas ha aumentado, y la OTAN y el Presidente de los EE UU, Barack Obama, se han involucrado. Cinco Jefes de Estado y treinta y un ministros asistieron a esta convocatoria, además de un importante número de líderes religiosos y políticos hasta sumar un total de 1500 concurrentes.
Esta alianza se ha convertido en una iniciativa influyente de la ONU que mueve a 84 países y a 17 organizaciones internacionales. Barack Obama asistió el lunes 6 de abril a una recepción con José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero y Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Presidentes de Gobierno de España y Turquía. Al día siguiente, participó en un encuentro internacional de líderes religiosos e hizo un viaje no previsto a Irak, un claro gesto de interés por el multilateralismo y las relaciones internacionales basadas en la diplomacia inteligente.
En nuestro blog, que tiene como propósito abordar todo lo relativo a la tolerancia, nos mostramos sensibles a estos acontecimientos, aunque los cambios a este nivel son lentos y además deben ser también cautelosos y muy considerados. Todo esto es sin duda una buena perspectiva para nosotros, estar cerca el final de nuestro proyecto y divisar un futuro prometedor en el asunto que nos compromete.


The second meeting of the Alliance of Civilizations held in Istanbul and backed by Spain and Turkey ended successfully on April 7th. Its purpose is to change the politic and military point of view from force and imposition to respect and tolerant dialogue at a time when society should have matured enough to allow such values to be present at international level.
Support has increased and NATO and the President of the United States, Barack Obama, have become involved in it. 5 chiefs of State and 31 ministers have attended the meeting as well as other religious and civil leaders up to a total of 1500 people.
This alliance has become an influential initiative of the UN as there are 84 countries and 17 international organisations involved in it. Barak Obama attended, on Monday April the 6th, a reception meeting together with José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Spanish and Turkish Prime Ministers. The following day, the USA President took part in an international gathering of religious leaders and flew to Irak in a non scheduled visit what clearly shows an interest for multilateralism in international relations focused on intelligent diplomacy.
Our blog, having as a purpose to deal with all matters connected with tolerance, is of course sensitive to all those happenings, though changes at that level are slow and should also always be both cautious and thoughtful. It is indeed a good perspective for us to be near the end of our programme and foresee a promising future.
