MÁS SOBRE TOLERANCIA EN EL IES MONASTIL /A FURTHER STEP ON TOLERANCE IN THE IES MONASTIL

Aunque hace ya año y medio que concluyó nuestro proyecto Comenius Red de Tolerancia, eso no significa en absoluto que cesara ahí nuestro compromiso con ella o con la dimensión europea, sino más bien lo contrario.

Tras la huella que este proyecto nos dejó, varios profesores de nuestro centro han realizado diferentes programas europeos individuales y otros lo harán en breve. Además de esto, estamos ya inmersos en el desarrollo de un nueva asociación Leonardo con nuevos socios tras un seminario de contacto ya realizado.

En cuanto a la tolerancia, seguimos desde entonces comprometidos en acciones que promocionen actitudes de respeto, solidaridad e integración. Nuestro centro ha continuado perteneciendo a la red de centros solidarios y desarrollando las actividades que se ofertan en ella. Por otro lado, seguimos en contacto con una de las profesoras turcas que comenzó la red de tolerancia con nosotros mediante el intercambio de comunicaciones escritas y on-line entre los alumnos de ambos países.

A esta continuidad debemos añadir que a principios de 2009 iniciamos en el IES Monastil una colaboración con el Consorcio Intermunicipal por el Empleo del Valle del Vinalopó en un proyecto europeo de juventud cuyo tema era también la tolerancia. Han tomado parte en él otras tres instituciones de Holanda, Bulgaria y Portugal respectivamente. El proyecto se ha desarrollado durante año y medio y el objetivo ha sido elaborar y pilotar un test que permite a los jóvenes conocer su grado de tolerancia en diversas situaciones que se pueden dar en la vida cotidiana, y que esto les permita reflexionar y mejorar su relación con los demás en los ámbitos en que se desenvuelvan.

Los cuatro socios hemos seguido una línea de trabajo que se estableció por acuerdo conjunto de los representantes de cada institución en el primer encuentro que tuvo lugar en Lisboa en febrero de 2009. Allí consensuamos los criterios comunes para la elaboración del test, la distribución de diversos artículos de promoción del proyecto y la difusión del producto final a través de la creación de una página web.

En abril de 2009 hubo un segundo encuentro de representantes de los cuatro países en Elda. En él se presentó un primer borrador de los tests elaborados por cada socio, una muestra de los productos promocionales y el esbozo de futura página web. También se concretó el calendario de las acciones a realizar en el resto del programa y se fijó la conferencia de clausura y resultados para noviembre de 2010 en Sofía.

Nuestro instituto, en estrecha colaboración con el Consorcio Intermunicipal por el empelo del Valle del Vinalopó ha llevado a cabo las siguientes actuaciones:

-elaborar la versión española del test y trasladar a los demás socios la traducción al inglés.
-contribuir al desarrollo del proyecto siguiendo los acuerdos establecidos.
-participar en los encuentros internacionales de socios y aportar nuestra experiencia en el tema.
-pilotar y evaluar la versión definitiva del test, organizar un ágora de opinión y ofrecer los artículos de promoción.
-difundir el test, los resultados y la dimensión del proyecto en el ámbito educativo y en los medios de comunicación de la comarca.


Our Comenius project Net of Tolerance finished one and a half years ago; however, it does not mean that we then stopped our commitment to it or to the European dimension, but rather the opposite.

Following the path of that project, several teachers in our school have carried out individual European programmes since, and others will shortly do so. Besides, we are at present involved in the development of a new Leonardo Association with new partners, about which we have already taken part in a contact seminar.

Regarding tolerance, we have been engaged in actions that promote attitudes of respect, solidarity and integration. Our school has continued to belong to the network of schools working on solidarity and we have developed different activities on the matter. On the other hand, we are still in touch with Güllü Oruc, one of the Turkish teachers who started the Net of tolerance with us, through post and on-line communications among our students.


We must mention that in early 2009, the IES Monastil started a collaboration with the Intermunicipal Consortium for Employment in the Vinalopó Valley in a European project on tolerance for the youth together with other three participant institutions from different countries: the Netherlands, Bulgaria and Portugal. The aim of the project was to develop and pilot a test which would allow young people to check their degree of tolerance in various situations that may occur in everyday life, and from it be able to reflect on it and improve themselves in their relationships with other people.


The four partners have pursued a line of work that was established by joint agreement of their representatives in the first meeting held in Lisbon in February 2009. There we fixed the common criteria for the preparation of the test, the distribution channels for the different promotional items and the dissemination of the final product through the creation of a website.


In April 2009 there was a second meeting of representatives from the four countries in Elda. A first draft of the tests of each partner was presented and discussed, as well as a sample of the promotional articles and an outline of the future website. We also worked then on the schedule of actions to undertake in the rest of the programme and fixed the closing conference and results for November 2010 in Sofia.

Our school, in close collaboration with the Intermunicipal Consortium for Employment in the Vinalopó Valley has undertaken the following actions in the programme:

-Producing the Spanish version of the test and handing in its English version to the rest of partners.
-Helping in the development of the project according to the agreed steps.
-Participating in the international partnership meetings and sharing our experience in the subject.
-Piloting and evaluating the final version of the test, arranging the agora of opinion and distributing the promotional items.
-Disseminating the test, the results and the scope of the project in the field of education and in the media.
